To worship you

I got this in my mail today and you can imagine my delight. With a few clicks it instantly became my new desktop wallpaper.
I love God. I love how he reflects back images of what he is teaching me to me. I love how he can use anything and anyone.
Somewhere in another corner of the earth he inspired this image and conspired so that it would come to me at the exact moment when I would be desiring to express this exact same feeling.
Worship.
I live to worship you

Solace

Away, away from the noise
alone with you
Away, away to hear your voice
and meet with you
nothing else matters
my one desire is
To worship you I live
To worship you I live
I live
to worship you
To worship you I live
To worship you I live
I live
to worship you
Israel - To worship you (Away)
I love this song.
It has a way of carving out a safe space wherever I am and putting words to the essence of who I am.
It's like a snapshot of the deepest part of me where I always seek to reside. Away from the hustle and bustle of life, away from the noise, away where I can hear His voice and worship.
Where nothing else matters but worship, where I realise that I was created to worship. This is what I live for.
And coming from this place everything I do is an act of worship. Every step I make, every move I make, every breath I take. Every smile, every word, every action. Worship.
To worship You I live. To worship You I live. I live to worship You.

My healer

"There the LORD made a decree and a law for them, and there he tested them. He said "If you listen carefully to the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the LORD, who heals you." Ex 15: 25-26
It's taken me a whole six months to begin to post again. I find myself still hanging where I left off. How do I speak of a God who defies words, defies description? The most I can do is paint glimpses of Him using the colours of His own words.
"I am the LORD, who heals you."
I'm been going through a miraculous process of healing. A coming together of fragmented parts and for the first time in my life I feel completely whole. All my pieces are back together again and together as one fully functioning unit we are moving towards my purpose.
I say we because though there is now one of me, there are still two of us. Me and my healer. My God my ever constant companion.
"I am the LORD, who heals you."
In the bible God speaks of himself revealing glimpses of his different attributes. Each attribute carrying a distinctive name in the Hebrew language. The God who heals... Jehovah Rophe. The forms of this healing are as wide and diverse as the oceans. Emotional. Spiritual. Physical. Total.
The God who heals desires wholeness in every aspect of our lives and more than that makes it possible. His unfailing promise of wholeness has remained constant.
The psalmist says of him
Praise the LORD, O my soul and forget not all his benefits
who forgives all your sins and heals your diseases. Ps 103:2-3
I am awed by the love and compassion of the the LORD who heals me made manifest through his Son.
In Matthew 8 we read of Jesus carrying out his healing ministry prompting Matthew to remark as he reaches the end of his description.
"That evening many demon-possessed people were brought to Jesus. He cast our the evil spirits with a simple command, and he healed all the sick. This fulfilled the word of the LORD through the prophet Isaiah, who said "He took our sicknesses and removed our diseases" Matt 8:17-18
My healer. Faithful to his promise. Constant in his execution. Unfailing.
I find myself at the end of my ability to form words. I simply stand in awe.
"You are the God that healeth me,
You are the Lord, my healer
You sent Your Word and healed my disease
You are the Lord, my healer"

Light dawning

"The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are good, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eyes are bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness" Matt 6:22-23
Woohoo! I have words again. Wow. I'm back. Bursting with things to say. Curious about what it'll sound like. My words are like legs that are a little shakey from being unused for so long. I feel a little wobbly. Finding my balance.
I've spent most of my time being silent, immersing myself in someone else's words. Almost took me a whole year and now that I'm done I want to go back and start all over again. (I am actually)
It's truly the most beautiful story ever told. I hope to spend most of the rest of this blog talking about what this story has meant to me. I'm afraid that my own words may not do it full justice. How do you speak of God who's love is so pure, so unfailing? How do you speak of a darkness that is so great some mistake it for light? How do you speak of a forgiveness so complete it totally wipes out sin?. How do you speak of grace and unmerited favour? How do you speak of mercies that are new every morning?
I absolutely have no idea, but my plan is to sit at the feet of my Teacher and let him speak through me. In the hope that my story will become your story. A story of a search, of redemption and of a joy and love that is so great I just want to shout about it from the rooftops.
So let's start at the beginning. God is good. :-)

You are
Like a thread, you have run through my life
Weaving intricate patterns
Tying pieces together
Designing
Directing
Driving
Delighting
You are my God
Like a song, you touched the depths of my soul
Evoking deep emotion
Expressing the inexpressible
Caressing
Calling
Comforting
Compelling
You are my God
Like a friend, you have always been there
My ever present companion
Witness to my silent tears
Loving
Leading
Laughing
Listening
You are my God
Like the rain, you have washed me clean
Quenching my deepest thirst
Bringing life to my desolation
Refreshing
Renewing
Rebuking
Restoring
You are my God
Like a flower, like the wind,
Like a tree, like a rock
Like the mountains, like the stars
You have been all things
You are in all things
You are my every thing
You are my all
You are… my God
